Accomodations

A WORLD CUP MATCH AT METLIFE STADIUM IS TAKING PLACE THE SAME DAY AS OUR WEDDING, WHICH IS EXPECTED TO MAKE JERSEY CITY BUSIER THAN USUAL!

We highly recommend booking accommodations as soon as possible if you plan on staying in the area. Unfortunately, Jersey City hotels are not offering blocks for the weekend due to the World Cup. We will be staying at the Courtyard by Marriott Jersey City Newport, we recommend booking a room there or booking an Airbnb if you’d like to stay within walking distance of the venue. If you have any questions on the area prior to booking, please feel free to reach out to us.

If you are not staying in the area, we urge you to get into Jersey City a bit early. Check out our local reccomendations for things to do before the wedding.

Transportation

DUE TO THE WORLD CUP MATCH, WE SUGGEST PLANNING FOR EXTRA TRAVEL TIME TO AND FROM THE VENUE

The venue is a short walk from the Grove St PATH Train, which is a stop on each of the Jersey City PATH lines. Transportation is easy between New York City with service between Newark - World Trade Center (NYC) and Newark - 33rd St (NYC) available all day, every day.

Uber/Lyft are readily available in the area. Please be mindful that prices may be higher than usual due to the World Cup.

For those driving, there are a number of paid lots and garages in downtown Jersey City. Street parking is available around the venue, but may be hard to find. Parking signs are a bit confusing, but street parking is completely free downtown after 7:00 PM on Fridays and completely free all day/night Saturday and Sunday. Please just be mindful not to park on street corners, metered areas, or areas that are marked with "No Parking".

Local Recommendations

Jersey City is a place we called home for so long and where we began our love story. The city has so much to offer between historical landmarks and a diverse food scene, here is our short-list of our favorite spots around if you are looking to explore

Views & Recreation

  • Take a walk along the Jersey City waterfront for some incredible views of the Hudson River and New York City skylines. Pro Tip: Stop at J Owen Grundy Park for the most incredible sunset views; the golden sun bounces off all the skyscrapers.

  • Newark Avenue is a pedestrian plaza (a whole street closed to car traffic) that runs through the heart of downtown Jersey City. The street isfilled with restaurants, bars, shops, and often filled with music performers, farmers' markets, and artist markets during the weekends.

  • Visit Liberty State Park for walking trails, views of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, NYC, Brooklyn, and more.

  • Jersey City is home to some of the most gorgeous old architecture we have seen, from brownstones to repurposed factories converted to residences and businesses. We recommend checking out the amazing old brownstone buildings near Van Vorst and Hamilton Parks, starting at Mercer or Wayne streets.

Coffee & Breakfast

Bars & Restaurants

  • The Archer (Dave & Victoria's first-date spot!) is a speakeasy-style bar serving amazing cocktails and food. Get the Penicillin & charcuterie board.

  • Jane Doe does everything so well. They offer Asian-Italian fusion (think Yakatori & fresh pasta) food and have one of the best beverage programs in the city; we often find ourselves at the bar during happy hour while they spin vinyl records.

  • San Patricios is the sister restaurant to the formerly best bar in the world, The Dead Rabbit. Pop in for the best Guinness you'll ever have, or gather some people around a table and enjoy the breeze on the patio.

We are happy to provide more things to do in Jersey City or in neighboring areas, such as Hoboken or New York City. Give us a shout!

Our Story

Dave and Victoria met in Jersey City in the Summer of 2021, on what happened to be the rainiest day of the year. Dave was fashionably early, Victoria was fashionably late (they've since become fashionably on-time together). When Victoria did arrive in the midst of the downpour, they made their way over to The Archer, where Victoria got her first glimpse of Dave's sarcastic sense of humor as he asked, "Do you want to sit outside or inside?"

To this day, Victoria's nickname is "Rain".

The two made it "official" in 2022 and quickly started enjoying life together; they traveled, went to concerts, cooked, roadtripped, ate, and drank their way through Jersey City, New York City, and beyond.

They moved into their first apartment together in 2023 and further embraced everyday life together. In the Summer of 2025, Dave and Victoria took the plunge and purchased their first home in West Orange, New Jersey; the same town Dave and Victoria got engaged only a few months prior. They've been loving the slower pace of life, enjoying their yard where their dog Hendrix can roam, and they can host friends and family. When deciding on where to have their wedding celebrations, Dave and Victoria felt it was important to bring it back to where their love story began, Jersey City.

Registry

Your love and support are the greatest gifts we could receive as we start our life together. However, if you’d like to honor us with a gift, we started a registry fund to help us with memorable experiences on our honeymoon (we leave the day after our wedding!) and creating the kitchen of our dreams!

FAQs

  • What am I getting myself into?!

    • We are opting for a small, private wedding ceremony with our families on Friday. The following day, we can't wait to celebrate with everyone who has played an important part in our lives. Saturday is all about the party; we have curated a menu of food and drink with the chefs of Maxwell Alley that we hope you all enjoy. We will also be throwing down on the dance floor with vinyl DJs once dinner has concluded.

  • What the heck is Amuse-bouche and why is it on your schedule? A

    • The literal translation from French is "mouth-amuser." It’s meant to wake up the palate and get the guest excited for the meal to come. Given we are asking guests to allot extra travel time due to unpredictable traffic delays, we are offering raw bar food items and champagne on the patio of Maxwell Alley for any guests who arrive before cocktail hour starts at 5:00 PM. Honestly, just show up for this because it will be good.

  • What should I wear?

    • Cocktail/semi-formal. Think a balance between elegant and comfortable.

  • Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

    • The celebrations will be taking place indoors, but we have access to the front outdoor patio for the duration of the party.

  • Can I bring a plus one?

    • Your invitation will note your guest count.

  • Are children allowed?

    • Please leave the kiddos at home.

  • After Party??

    • We did not plan any official afterparty. There are endless places within a short walk to go afterwards; let's play by ear. We're down if you're down!
